Founder & Visionary Behind Naisargik Foods
With an inspiring legacy of over 35 years in aquaculture and sustainable farming, Mr. Surendra Kumar Belchandan stands as the visionary founder behind Naisargik Foods and Poonam Fisheries. As one of the earliest pioneers in private sector fisheries in Madhya Pradesh since 1986, he has revolutionized practices in fish seed hatchery, prawn culture, integrated farming, and value-added fish products.
His trailblazing work has earned him prestigious accolades such as the State Award, ICAR Hiralal Choudhary Award, and the CIFA Innovation Award. A passionate mentor, he has empowered over 2,000 farmers through hands-on training and spearheaded the establishment of Central India’s first Aquafield School, a hub for innovation and skill development in aquaculture.
In close collaboration with institutions like CIFA and ICAR, Mr. Belchandan has played a pivotal role in mainstreaming eco-friendly, bio-organic farming solutions across India. His unwavering commitment to sustainability, farmer education, and rural upliftment continues through his active involvement in several scientific and policy advisory boards across Chhattisgarh.
